New Year's Prayer

written by Jack Zavada

Lord, this year I want to change,
and I've said that in the past.
but now my prayer is different
'cause I understand at last.

I wanted my own way before,
I ignored your loving plans.
But now I'm putting everything
into your nail-scarred hands.

I promise to obey you
out of gratitude and love.
I won't be giving orders
to my Father up above.

I finally realize the truth
and so I've changed my prayer.
The safest place for me to be
is in your gentle care.

Please be my shepherd, Jesus,
that's all I ask of you.
In good times and in bad this year,
Take my hand and lead me through.

AMEN.

Happy new year folks! :)

A Poem ♥

Just as the year is coming to an end, Rolly wrote a poem for me.  He's in the province now and he only sent me the lines via BBM.  It's hot off the press. :)

Your thoughts warm me on a cold and windy night
And unparalleled joy springs from my heart upon your sight
You're the unwavering star that constantly sparkles in the sky
The reliable beacon that lights my path as I fly
From here to eternity my feelings will not falter
We will conquer challenges and leap roadblocks together
Life's events may distress or astound
But in every step of the way, I will always be around

Aaaww. Thanks love.♥ I could imagine you on the hammock staring at the sky while writing this. Hehe. You're wonderful, like I always say. I love you.

Hot Car

I appreciate hot cars a lot, even more than Rolly does. If I were a boy and was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I would probably be sporting a flashy black car, or a handsome red Ferrari!  But I'm a girl, with average purchasing power.  Hehe. Thus, I drive a little Suzuki Alto which I sometimes imagine to be a chic Mini Cooper. =P

Having said that, it's not surprising that the moment I saw this gorgeous car, my jaw dropped in awe.

Guess whose car is this?  I bet you, the owner is as equally jaw-dropping. =D

Clue:
YASMAR KERED
;)

Huuuuush!

My Favorite Makeup Pieces

The Balm Down Boy Blush
I've tried various types, textures, and brands of blushes, and so far, no one has knocked my socks off until I tried Down Boy.  It adds just the right amount of pink to the cheeks, making 'em look naturally glowing.  And the pack's kinda cute. :) I got it for 850 bucks.

This blush doesn't come with a brush, so you gotta get a separate one.  And this one's the perfect match:
It's a mini kabuki brush also from The Balm.  Though I already have a complete set of brushes each with a different function, I still like this brush because it's small and can fit anywhere (unlike the long ones I have).  Plus, it has a canister that keeps it clean and dirt-free when not in use.  I forget how much I got this for though.  Around 400 if I'm not mistaken.

These cute ones and the rest of The Balm makeup line are available at Beauty Bar. :)

Our Love Language

"Love language" is how one expresses his love to his partner, a term coined by Dr. Gary Chapman. According to him, there are 5 love languages (http://www.5lovelanguages.com/resources/books/) and these are:

  1. Words of affirmation
  2. Quality time
  3. Gifts
  4. Acts of service
  5. Physical touch
For Rolly and me, all these five should definitely be present in our relationship.  However, there's one which proves to be the most salient, and that is - WORDS. :)

There is not a day in our lives when we don't exchange sweet nothings.  Mushy alert (!!!), I know, but words of affirmation about each other and our love are a key ingredient in our relationship. The words are translated into actions, of course.  For Rolly, me telling him that I love him and expounding on it mean a lot.  Me affirming how good he is for me and how I love to be spending the rest of my life with such a guy boosts his morale and makes him want to be even better for me.

I am posting one BBM exchange as an example. Some words are rephrased to hide the baby/alien talk. =D

Joyce: ... I am inspired.
Rolly: Could you describe the person who inspires you? :)
Joyce: Mapogi, mamacho, machingkit, at ma-english! =))
Rolly: =)) Sakin naman, ma-sexy and ma-cute, maputi, madanda,
mabait, at matalino. Sometimes I feel that she's too good for me
for all she's worth. She is quite extraordinary.

See?  We're two sweet talkers, but being so makes us happy. :)

Honeymoon Destinations

Because I've been such an overly excited early bird, Rolly and I are done booking all our wedding suppliers as early as now (unless we add more to our "dream team"). Thus, I am left with nothing wedding-related to do anymore, and I got bored. And then POOF! I realized we haven't planned our honeymoon yet! Yaaay, that's one exciting job for me! :)

Rolly has had me take care of the wedding planning. He knew my head was bursting with ideas which I’ve started pooling since childhood. He would only come in to give approval on budget-related stuff. However, it’s a different story for the honeymoon. Rolly loves to travel, and it’s him who must decide where we’re going on our first trip as a married couple. My only job now is to research about the cities we’re eyeing, which I need to present to him later on for ‘approval.’

Where shall we go?

Beijing, Bali, Seoul, or Bangkok?

Spots to Visit In and Around Beijing

Great Wall
Forbidden City
Tiananmen Square
Temple of Heaven
Summer Palace
Ming Tombs

Things To See in Bali

Beaches! :)

Seoul Highlights
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Changdeokgung Palace
Cheongwadae
Home to the Presidency
N Seoul Tower
Everland
Caribbean Bay

Bangkok Attractions

Grand Palace and Wat Prakeaw
Chinatown / Yaoarat
Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn)
Wat Pho

Hmm, it's kinda hard to decide really.  There's just so much to see in every city, and I haven't done any extensive research just yet.  But at this point in time, I think our vote goes to Beijing. Rolly is a sucker for history, and the thought of walking along the Great Wall just thrills him! :)  As for me, I'm fine wherever he'll bring me as long as we get to take lots of pictures. Haha. =D

Barbie and Ken Tie the Knot!

Barbra Millicent Roberts and long-time boyfriend Ken Carson have finally gotten hitched!
Yup, that's the famous Barbie doll and her partner Ken, popular among all little girls around the world. ;)
Imagine my delight when I saw their wedding photos on the world wide web (http://blog.beatrice-dg.com).

My Wedding Personality

I was browsing www.bridalbook.ph when I came across this quiz entitled: "What's Your Wedding Personality?"  You know how excited I've been since getting bitten by the wedding bug, so it was but automatic for me to answer. =D

The result? (copied verbatim:)

"You're probably the Romantic Type. Perhaps you've imagined holding your wedding in a garden with lots of candlelit trees and rose petals on the ground.  Lush floral arrangements in all shades of pink could also help you channel the look in your reception...

"Your wedding style ideas are filled with dainty bridesmaids dresses.  Go for a pretty ball gown made of satin and French lace for that uber romantic look on your special day."

Geez, that's exactly my wedding personality!  Kudos to author Zei Bernardo! :)

I really am the romantic type, and it's true that I've always wanted a garden wedding. However, since Catholics are only allowed to have the wedding ceremony inside a church and nowhere else, I can't have that.  It is for this reason that we chose The Glass Garden to be our reception venue. It has the perfect dreamy and "enchanted" feel and ambiance that I want.

It's also true that I want dainty bridesmaid dresses, that's why I've chosen chiffon for the material and pink for the color.
the color
the material

The only mismatch is the bridal gown. :) If I were long legged and thin, I might go for a ball gown. But I'm not. I'm only five feet tall. I may weigh 92 pounds but I look thicker. Because of facts like these which cannot be changed, I can't have a ball gown which would actually make me look like a ball, literally. Hehe.  I'm having a fit-n-flare wedding dress instead. :)
