Four Months

Happy 4th month, my baby Lia! ❤️

Oh wow, how time flies! I guess I'll be saying this line over and over and over for the next several months and years. You my darling are becoming more and more like a little person of your own, with a personality and attitude that really belong to you alone. Your daddy and I are in constant awe at how well you are growing; you will always be a testament of God's power and grace in our lives.

So, how's our baby doll at 4 months?

It is with bliss that I tell the world again how happy a baby you are. Yours is a smiling face, making you giggle is a piece of cake. You are not picky with people yet, you readily beam at anyone who pays you attention. You're a real ray of sunshine, my love.

Last month, you already knew how to roll to your side, but now at 4 months, you're already a ‘rolling over expert’ (the first time you ever rolled over was on July 17). Every time we put you down on the bed, you are sure to turn over a few seconds later. Sometimes I even wake up in the middle of the night and see you sleeping on your tummy and that means you’ve rolled over while we’re fast asleep! Eeeep! You scare us sometimes, baby!

These days, you’re loving tummy time! Because your shoulder and back muscles are much stronger now, you can already do mini-pushups. Your tiny hands have also found their way to your mouth! You sometimes stick them far down that you start to gag and spit up. Your dad and I always try to take them off because they get wet, but your fingers still always end up back in your mouth. Hay naku. One time I even shot a photo of you thumbsucking and posted in on Facebook just because it’s too cute, but I ended up getting a private message from your pedia saying we shouldn’t encourage it. Hehe. Lagot. =P

Hmm, what else? You find joy in seeing yourself in the mirror. When we're in front of the dresser, at first your eyes would wander, then they would lock into your reflection, and you'd laugh. Hehe. Then you would look at other objects again, then the mirror, and then you'd laugh again. I feel super happy whenever I hear your laughter, baby. Your voice is music to my ears.

Last but not the least, there’s “no more tears” for you during bath time, finally! You’ve already overcome your ‘fear’ of getting your head wet. Now giving you a bath is easy peasy and super fun. Keep it up, baby!

That’s it for now! We eagerly await more of your milestones as we head on towards your 5th month. :) Happy 4 again, baby! We love you!

Cheers,

Riella Noelle's Baptism

Matthew 28:19-20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

On the 4th of July, 2015, our Riella Noelle became part of God's church. :) She was exactly 3 months and 6 days old on the day of the holy sacrament.

The baptism was held on a rainy Saturday morning, 11am, at Christ the King, Greenmeadows (where Lia's dad and I got married 3 years ago). We wanted the ceremony to be private, so we booked the parish's Baptistry all to ourselves. :)

During the Baptism rites :)
Sleepy Lia with Rev. Msgr. Antonio S.J. Mortillero
Lia, who got hungry after the ceremony,  had 6 pairs of Ninong and Ninangs.
(L-R) Ninongs Eldwin, Rolan, Erwin, Mark, and Ian (not in photo: Ninong Patrick)
Ninangs Kleng, Cherry, Myka, and Carol (not in photo: Ninangs Lerma & Tanya)
We're super happy and relieved that everything at the Church turned out well despite us being late! :( Our 'call time' was 10:45 because the ceremony was at 11, but we arrived at 11:10! :( Traffic was so bad along C5 that morning because of the rain, we thought we'd never make it.  Thank God for the patience He gave the priest. Hehe.

Lia's 'after-party' was held at Mom and Tina's, Pasig. We decided to do it there because it's famous for good food (especially cakes!), and the function hall is already beautiful on its own - no extra styling needed. I guess it was a really good decision because the guests kept on raving about the food and the place during and after the reception! :)

Lia's dessert table. :) The theme of the after-party was ANGELS with a rustic feel.

That's angel Lia on each table centerpiece :)
Here's a closeup of her yummy angel cake :)

Angel Lia's baptism invitation with her party souvenirs - angel cupcakes and meringue tubs :)
Our sleepy baby in her reception outfit :)

Now here are some photos of Lia's party guests.  Needless to say, these are the people closest to us. :)

The party was a success! :) We were very happy because this was the day when most of our guests saw Lia in the flesh for the first time. We felt everyone's love for our baby, and that's what's important. :)  Again, we're very thankful to the Lord that He has accepted our baby into His Holy Church, and that her first ever party turned out just the way we wanted it to be.

Thank You, Lord! :) Please continue to bless our little family. :)

Cheers,

Three Months

Happy 3 months baby!

You turned 3 last June 28, and if you would notice, I am writing this a week late. Got busy with so many things, including your baptism (and I will post a separate article on that).

So how are you at 3 months?

You've already become very talkative! :) You only knew one syllable before ("Waaah!"), but now the sounds that you're able to make are too many to count. You love shouting with kilig when you're happy. And sometimes when you want to get our attention, you yell really loud with a matching giggle. Hehe. When we converse, sometimes you even raise your left eyebrow, as if emphasizing the words in your story. You super love to talk and talk that you oftentimes do so even while having your milk! Hahaha! You are too cute for words, our #LiaLoopsy.

Your neck muscles are stronger now. You can lift your head up for a minute or two, but when you get tired, you just drop it on my or your dad's shoulder or chest without warning. Good thing you have really fluffy cheeks that serve as a cushion. Hehe. You have not learned to roll over yet, but you can already roll to your side on your own. I guess rolling over requires stronger neck and back muscles, especially since you have too many stored fats to lift. Hahaha. :)

You do not hate bath time anymore. In fact, you love it when we're washing and massaging your chest, legs, and arms. However, your head is a different story. You still wail when it gets wet, and that makes it very hard to shampoo your hair! I hope it will grow on you soon, so we could avoid a crying frenzy every time you hit the tub.

Hmm, what else? Ah, your eyesight is much more clearer now. Your eyes follow things around as they move. When you try to focus, you get cross-eyed most times. Hehe. You sometimes even observe things upside down. Cute but weird. :D

My baby, your dad and I are very happy that you are developing well. But again, please take your sweet time growing up. Dad and I might have a hard time catching up if you don't. We looooove you! Happy 3! :)

Cheers,
