Appointment with BKS

Last Sunday, April 22nd, was one of my most anticipated Sundays this quarter. :) It was when we went to our designer, Boy Kastner Santos, to finalize the designs of our wedding outfits. He also took our measurements. :)

Busy si Tito Boy. Standing ovation naman ang bangs ko na ayaw magpa-headband. =))
Pressure! Hindi na pwede lumaki ang tummy ko! =D

We're very happy with the designs Tito Boy sketched for us!  I won't share them here though. =P  Our next meet-up: JULY 15 at Trinoma with the entourage! :) Yaaay!

Cheers,

Trial Makeup Session with Mayone Bakunawa

On April 9, a holiday, was my trial makeup sesh with Mayone.  I had it scheduled on the same day of our engagement shoot so that I wouldn't have to spend for prenup makeup anymore.  Hehe.

Rolly and I arrived at My Little Craft Boutique early, even before it opened.  Mayone arrived shortly after, and we took photos of the shop while she's setting up her makeup tools.

Cute, cute stuff! See those pomander balls! :)
My Little Craft's souvenir corner :)
Mayone's Mirror. :)  That's Ate Susan, her partner hairstylist.
Shot against the light!  Oopsie daisies!

Then it was time for the makeup session! :)  Here's one photo of me when we arrived.  Nothing on my face yet except a bit of concealer and powder.
Notice the eye bags!
Then Mayone already started working on me...

Tadaaaaaaaaaa!!!

I was surprised when they put a veil on me! Para daw mas ma-visualize ko. =))

With my ever supportive fiance shutterbug behind me :)
Hehe.  I looked exactly how I wanted to look, still me but pretty-fied (haha, I'm beginning to sound big-headed here)!  I loved the simple look that Mayone was able to cast on me.  The last thing I wanted was to appear overly dolled up, which sometimes happens with other makeup artists.

It was my first time to try airbrush makeup, and what they say is true, it's very lightweight.  It felt like nothing was applied on my face, parang nag-powder lang ako.  And the best part of it all was the makeup's staying power.  In fact, mas tumatagal, mas nagmumukhang natural pa nga yung makeup.  We had our prenup shoot on a very hot, sunny day, yet the makeup stayed looking fresh even until the end of the photo session. I only had to re-apply lipstick every now and then kasi kain ako nang kain. =D

I am happy I have chosen Mayone over countless of others out there.  She's not only a makeup artist, she also acts like a barkada.  She's very makwento, no dull moments with her at all.  What's more, she's like a beauty consultant as well, never running out of tips on skin care, laser hair removal, beauty treatments, and what-not. Ayos diba?  And her partner hairstylist, Ate Susan, is equally good!  I described to her the soft curls I wanted, and she got it spot on.

*Clap*Clap*Clap!

The Turtle and I

Sometimes, bad and sad things just happen no matter how hard we try to prevent them.  Mahirap.  Masakit sa ulo.  Nakakaiyak.  It would have been less awful if you're the sole person affected, but at times, problems are just so huge that it involves too many people, even a whole organization.  :(

I've been very down since yesterday.  Then I received this message from an officemate and friend:

A turtle once said,
"No matter how heavy my bearings are, it's God's choice to make me
carry the luggage. For it's the only way I will be protected."
So whatever we have in life, may it be PROBLEM or PAIN, remember that God gave it to us for a PURPOSE.

Now I feel better. :)  I may not be tough, but my Father is.  I am clinging to His promise that things will be better.

With optimism,

Ang Pamamanhikan

Yesterday marked a very special occasion for Rolly and me. It was the day when his family formally met mine. Pamamanhikan – as how we Filipinos call it.

I woke up very early yesterday with a mixed feeling of excitement and anxiety. I was excited because I couldn’t wait for his parents to finally see where I come from, what my family’s like. I was anxious because I didn’t know what to expect. What were they and my parents gonna discuss? Would they agree or disagree on certain things?

From the south end of Metro Manila, Rolly, with his parents and older brother, drove for 3 hours to San Miguel, Bulacan, the place where probinsyana Joycee grew up. All the restlessness that I was feeling disappeared the moment the family stepped out of the car, with my mom and dad eagerly welcoming them to our humble abode. And it wasn’t only my parents, practically all my titas who live in the same compound were there too.

Rolly’s parents brought food, as is the tradition, and my mom also prepared some. Put together, ang dami naming pagkain! Parang may birthday lang! Haha. Everyone was introduced to each other, and the mood was all light and happy. As usual, Papa, Rolly’s dad, was very funny, cracking jokes here and there, na sinabayan naman ng daddy ko. Hehe. Masaya lang kaming lahat. :)

L-R:  Me, Rolly, Daddy (mine), Papa (Rolly's), Mommy (Mine), Mama (Rolly's), Kuya Rolan (Rolly's brother)

After the big lunch and loads of kwentuhan, we headed to the living room, where Rolly’s mom mentioned about their “agenda.” I kind of panicked when I heard the word, coz I didn’t know what this agenda was besides them getting to know my entire family. And Rolly didn’t mention anything to me beforehand. The room went quiet for a millisecond. Hmm. Then my fiancé spoke, addressing mommy and daddy.

“We know it’s going to happen in November, but we came here to seek for your blessing as I ask for your daughter’s hand in marriage. Hindi po sya uuwi sa inyo na umiiyak, because I promise that I will take care of her as you have.”

Aaaaaaw, my heart melted! I didn’t expect that there was something like that anymore, because it was already understood that my family gave us their blessing the moment we started wedding planning. Yun pala, may ganito-ganito pa. Hahaha. Though I’ve known from the start that he’ll take care of me forever, I realized that it’s a different feeling when he’s saying it to your parents in front of you and his own parents. Nakaka-touch. I wanted to hug him right then and there, but this mushy-mushy feeling (mushy-mushy whaaat? Hehe) was interrupted when my mom gave her answer. Mommy said, “Thankful ako kay Lord na ikaw ang binigay nya sa anak ko.” She even told everyone there that even when we were still new, like we were only months into the relationship, I already told her that I had a feeling he’s the one. Hahaha, binuking pa ako ni mommy, nakakahiya. But it’s true. I knew he was the one. He was the one I asked God to give me.

The seriousness of the “agenda” was made light when the folks started talking about babies. My future father-in-law said that a month after the wedding, there should already be a baby in my tummy! Waaaah. Na-pressure naman ako! Bahala na si God. Whatever happens, we would be happy. :)

April 15 ended with a smile on everyone’s face, but  Rolly and I were the happiest. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that our families approve of our union, and that we will have their support every step of the way. We’ve been blessed with very good parents, people whom we will try to be like as we build a family of our own. With their guidance, second to God’s, we’re sure we’ll be on the right track as we adjust into being husband and wife, and as parents too, sooner or later.

With the dads :)
With the moms :)
Got our parents' blessing! =D

Thank You Lord for this great Family Day Sunday! :)

P.S. Rolly's tweets yesterday. =D *kilig*  =P

My Marshmallow Test

I always thought that passing the Marshmallow Test was easy. Deferred gratification? C’mon, that’s a piece of cake. That was until I myself was given my own lip-smacking marshmallow which I cannot eat just yet.

My marshmallow? The photos from our super fun engagement shoot last Monday! I’ve been trying so hard not to share any of them until at least 6 months prior to the big day, but here I am, on my way to becoming a flunker. Boo my self-control.

Game, iku-kwento ko na. =D

As shared in one of my previous posts, we wanted our prenup shoot to have three themes: “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” “Graceful Elegance,” and “Ready for Battle.”  Thanks to Nice Print, the plan was executed perfectly. Since my self-restraint is no better than a four-year old's, I am sharing a few photos per set here as I've convinced myself that these are only teasers anyway and the full set will be published as scheduled (Oo na, niloloko ko na ang sarili ko. Hahaha).

ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL.

Playing with bubbles! :)
Cute, cute shades! :)
Pinwheel! :)
Sweet kiss! *shy*

GRACEFUL ELEGANCE.

I super love this beautiful wall! :)
Effort mag-pose nang walang teeth! =P
At the wine cellar

My eyes are unusually round here. =D

READY FOR BATTLE.

We wore fatigue shorts and Chucks. :)
Feeling like a sharp shooter. =P
Kunyari sexy =P
Trying to look astig! =D

Yaaaaaay!  Ang saya-saya! :) I'll be publishing the rest of the shortlisted shots on facebook when the right time comes.  For now, I'm satisfied sharing these. :)  Thanks so much to the very talented Kenneth M. of Nice Print Photography for the shots which exceeded my expectations! Thanks, too, to Mayone Bakunawa for the airbrush makeup which lasted until after the photo session! :)

Matthew 28:1-10
Jesus Has Risen

1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them,“Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

Happy Easter, everyone! :)

via "Gr8 Ppl, Gr8 Thoughts" on facebook

Stumbled upon this on my FB newsfeed, and I can't help but re-post for I strongly believe in what it says.  The desire for recognition is a sign of pride, of vanity... one of the seven deadly sins which most of us are guilty of. We're humans, we naturally yearn for approval, for praises, and for even a simple tap on the back saying that we're doing well.  But if this yearning turns into hunger, if the desire for esteem is what keeps us going, then that's when it becomes dangerous.

Sometimes, when I feel a longing to be appreciated, I try to remember a line I read from Tuesdays with Morrie.  It says,

“...if you're trying to show off for people at the top, forget it.
They will look down on you anyhow.
And if you're trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it.
They will only envy you.
Status will get you nowhere.
Only an open heart will allow you to float equally between everyone.”
:)

Or of the above lines won't suffice, these Bible verses are very helpful too.

Proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Psalm 119:37
Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.

1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Matthew 6:1-7
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. ...

See? There's really no good in showing off. :)  We'll just tire ourselves out. *wink*

The Seven Last Words of Jesus

DISCLAIMER:  This post was copied verbatim from  http://www.jesuschristsavior.net/Words.html.  It's just too good an article not to share. :)

***********

Christ Jesus died on the Cross to redeem mankind, to save us from our sins, because He loves us.
As recorded in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ was mocked, scorned, and tortured in the praetorium. He carried his cross up the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem to Calvary, was nailed to the Cross and hung between two common criminals, and suffered an indescribable end, recalled by the Church on Good Friday of Holy Week.

Here are his Seven Words, the last seven expressions of Jesus Christ on the Cross recorded in Scripture.

THE FIRST WORD
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do."
Gospel of Luke 23:34

Jesus says this first word only in the Gospel of Luke, just after he was crucified by the soldiers on Golgotha, with the criminals, one on the right and one on the left. The timing of this suggests that Jesus asks his Father to primarily forgive his enemies - Caiaphas and the Sanhedrin; Pontius Pilate and Herod; and the soldiers who have scourged him, mocked him, tortured him, and who have just nailed him to the cross. But could this not also apply to his Apostles and companions who have deserted him, to Peter who has denied him three times, to the fickle crowd, who only days before praised him on his entrance to Jerusalem, and then days later chose him over Barabbas to be crucified?  Could this not also apply to us, who daily forget him in our lives?

Does he react angrily? No, he asks his Father to forgive them, because they are ignorant! At the height of his physical suffering, his Divine love prevails and He asks His Father to forgive his enemies.

Right up to his final hours on earth, Jesus preaches forgiveness. He teaches forgiveness in the Lord's prayer: "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us" (Matthew 6:12). When asked by Peter, how many times should we forgive someone, Jesus answers seventy times seven (Matthew 18:21-22). At the Last Supper, Jesus explains his crucifixion to his Apostles when he tells them to drink of the cup: "Drink of it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins" (Matthew 26:27-28). He forgives the paralytic at Capernaum (Mark 2:5), and the adulteress caught in the act and about to be stoned (John 8:1-11). And even following his Resurrection, his first act is to commission his disciples to forgive: "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained" (John 20:22-23).

***********

THE SECOND WORD
"Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
Gospel of Luke 23:43

Now it is not just the religious leaders or the soldiers that mock Jesus, but even one of the criminals, a downward progression of mockery. But the criminal on the right speaks up for Jesus, explaining the two criminals are receiving their just due, and then pointing to Jesus, says, "this man has done nothing wrong." Then, turning to Jesus, he asks, "Jesus, remember me when you come in your kingdom" (Luke 23:42). What wonderful faith this repentant sinner had in Jesus - far more than the doubting Thomas, one of his own Apostles. Ignoring his own suffering, Jesus mercifully responds with His second word.

The second word again is about forgiveness, this time directed to a sinner. Just as the first word, this Biblical expression again is found only in the Gospel of Luke. Jesus shows his Divinity by opening heaven for a repentant sinner - such generosity to a man that only asked to be remembered!

***********

THE THIRD WORD
"Jesus said to his mother: "Woman, this is your son".
Then he said to the disciple: "This is your mother."
Gospel of John 19:26-27

Jesus and Mary are together again, at the beginning of his ministry in Cana and now at the end of his public ministry at the foot of the Cross. What sorrow must fill her heart, to see her Son mocked, tortured, and now just crucified. Once again, a sword pierces Mary's soul, the sword predicted by Simeon at the Temple (Luke 2:35) . There are four at the foot of the cross, Mary his Mother, John, the disciple whom he loved, Mary of Cleopas, his mother's sister, and Mary Magdalene. His third word is addressed to Mary and John, the only eye-witness of the Gospel writers.

But again Jesus rises above the occasion, and his concerns are for the ones that love him. The good son that He is, Jesus is concerned about taking care of his mother. In fact, this passage offers proof that Jesus was the only child of Mary, because if he did have brothers or sisters, they would have provided for her. But Jesus looks to John to care for her.

St. Joseph is noticeably absent. The historic paintings, such as Tondo-doni by Michelangelo and The Holy Family by Raphael, suggest Joseph was a considerably older man. St. Joseph had probably died by the time of the crucifixion, or else he would have been the one to take care of Mary. Early Christian traditions and the second-century apocryphal Protoevangelium of James held that Joseph was a widower, and his children by his former wife were the "brothers and sisters of Jesus."

Another striking phrase indicating Jesus was an only child is Mark 6:3, referring to Jesus: "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon, and are not his sisters here with us?" Now if James, Joses and Judas and Simon were also natural sons of Mary, Jesus would not have been called the "son of Mary," but rather "one of the sons of Mary."

***********

THE FOURTH WORD
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34

This is the only expression of Jesus in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark. Both Gospels relate that it was in the ninth hour, after 3 hours of darkness, that Jesus cried out this fourth word. The ninth hour was three o'clock in Palestine. Just after He speaks, Mark relates with a horrible sense of finality, "And Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed his last" (Mark 15:37).

One is struck by the anguished tone of this expression compared to the first three words of Jesus. This cry is from the painful heart of the human Jesus who must feel deserted by His Father and the Holy Spirit, not to mention his earthly companions, the Apostles. As if to emphasize his loneliness, Mark even has his loved ones "looking from afar," not close to him as in the Gospel of John. Jesus feels separated from his Father. He is now all alone, and he must face death by himself.

But is not this exactly what happens to all of us when we die? We too will be all alone at the time of death! Jesus completely lives the human experience as we do, and by doing so, frees us from the clutches of sin.

His fourth Word is the opening line of Psalm 22, and thus his cry from the Cross recalls the cry of Israel, and of all innocent persons who suffer. Psalm 22 of David made a striking prophecy of the crucifixion of the Messiah, at a time when crucifixion did not exist: "They have pierced my hands and my feet, they have numbered all my bones" (22:16-17). The Psalm continued: "they divide my garments among them, and for my vesture they cast lots" (22:18).

There can not be a more dreadful moment in the history of man as this moment. Jesus who came to save us is crucified, and He realizes the horror of what is happening and what He now is enduring. He is about to be engulfed in the raging sea of sin. Evil triumphs, as Jesus admits: "But this is your hour" (Luke 22:53). But it is only for a moment. The burden of all the sins of humanity for a moment overwhelm the humanity of our Jesus.

But does this not have to happen? Does this not have to occur if Jesus is to save us? It is in defeat of his humanity that the Divine plan of His Father and Himself will be completed. It is by His death that we are redeemed. "For there is one God. There is also one mediator between God and the human race, Christ Jesus, himself human, who gave himself as ransom for all" (l Timothy 2:5-6).

***********

THE FIFTH WORD
"I thirst"
Gospel of John 19:28

The fifth word of Jesus is His only human expression of His physical suffering. Jesus is now in shock. The wounds inflicted upon him in the scourging, the crowning with thorns, and the nailing upon the cross are now taking their toll, especially after losing blood on the three-hour walk through the city of Jerusalem to Golgotha on the Way of the Cross. Systematic studies of the Shroud of Turin, as reported by Gerald O'Collins in Interpreting Jesus, indicate the passion of Jesus was far worse than one could imagine. The Shroud has been exhaustively studied by every possible scientific maneuver, and the scientific burden of proof is now on those who do not accept the Shroud as the burial cloth of Jesus.

"He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross,
so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness.
By his wounds you have been healed" (l Peter 2:24).

***********

THE SIXTH WORD
When Jesus had received the wine, he said,
"It is finished";
and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit.
Gospel of John 19:30

It is now a fait accomplit. The sixth word is Jesus' recognition that his suffering is over and his task is completed. Jesus was obedient to the Father and gave his love for mankind by redeeming us with His death on the Cross.

When Jesus died, He "handed over" the Spirit.

Jesus remains in control to the end, and it is He who handed over his Spirit. One should not miss the double entendre here, for this may also be interpreted as His death brought forth the Holy Spirit. The Gospel of John gradually reveals the Holy Spirit. Jesus mentions living water in John 4:10-11 when he met the Samaritan woman at the well, and during the Feast of Tabernacles refers to living water as the Holy Spirit in 7:37-39. At the Last Supper, Christ announced he would ask the Father to send "another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth" (14:16-17). The word Advocate is also translated as Comforter, Helper, Paraclete, or Counselor. "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you" (14:26). The symbolism of water and the Holy Spirit become more evident in John 19:34: "But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water." The piercing of his side fulfilled the prophecy in Zechariah 12:10: "They will look on me whom they have pierced." The piercing of Jesus' side prefigures the Sacraments of Eucharist (blood) and Baptism (water), as well as the beginning of the Church.

***********

THE SEVENTH WORD
Jesus cried out in a loud voice,
"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit"
Gospel of Luke 23:46

The seventh word of Jesus is from the Gospel of Luke, and is directed to the Father in heaven, just before He dies. Jesus recalls Psalm 31:5 - "Into thy hands I commend my spirit; thou hast redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God." Luke repeatedly pleads Jesus' innocence: with Pilate (Luke 23:4, 14-15, 22), through Dismas, the criminal (Luke 23:41), and immediately after His death with the centurion. "Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God and said, "Certainly this man was innocent" (Luke 23:47).

John's Gospel relates that it was the Day of Preparation, the day before the actual Passover (Pesach in Hebrew, Pascha in Greek and Latin), that Jesus was sentenced to death (19:14) and sacrificed on the Cross (19:31). He died at the ninth hour (three o'clock in the afternoon), about the same time as the Passover lambs were slaughtered in the Temple. Christ became the Paschal or Passover Lamb, as noted by St. Paul: "For Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed" (1 Corinthians 5:7). The innocent Lamb was slain for our sins, so that we might be forgiven.

Jesus fulfilled His mission: "They are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as an expiation by his blood, to be received by faith" (Romans 3:24-25). The relationship of Jesus to the Father is revealed in the Gospel of John, for He remarked, "The Father and I are one" (10:30), and again, at the Last Supper: "Do you not believe I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works" (14:10). And He can now return: "I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father" (16:28). Jesus practiced what He preached: "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13).

Saved by the Cross,

The Gift of Lifelong Memories

As you may have read in one of my previous posts, there's this ongoing battle inside my head on having (or not having) a bridal registry.  Surely, this would make guests' lives easy, but I don't wanna give the impression that material gifts are necessary, because they aren't.  We shall be inviting chosen guests for the only reason that they are special to Rolly and me, and we want them to witness our exchange of "I dos", that's all.

I shared this thought with a friend one day, but she insisted that we should at least have one.  She said, "Some might ask you what gifts you would prefer. Would you tell them 'Kahit ano.'? At least point them somewhere and spare them the hassle of racking their brains just to guess what you'd be happy to receive."

Gets ko naman eh. =/  Hindi lang talaga ako excited maka-receive ng pots and pans or other household items which we can buy on our own. =/

***********

I was browsing the world wide web yesterday and I came across this post from http://www.bridetastic.com.ph talking about the "Honeymoon Fund," a variation of a wedding registry. I immediately hit Google to research further on it.  I learned that:

  • "Honeyfund" and other honeymoon registries are an alternative to the traditional store registry, designed so that friends and family can purchase a portion of the honeymoon as a wedding gift.
  • Instead of listing an assortment of furniture and housewares as you would in a typical registry, the honeyfund enumerates the different activities that the couple intends to engage in their honeymoon such as gondola rides, a romantic dinner for two, and the like.

Here's one sample of a Honeyfund registry:

The concept sounds really appealing!  After all, a trip to our chosen destination is far more exciting than a new oven toaster from SM Department Store. =D  And for Rolly and me, experiences are much more valuable that material possessions.  The gift of lifelong honeymoon memories is something we would appreciate forever.  Honeyfund simply seems perfect! :)

As you would expect, I immediately created one for us, especially after I read this statement from The Wall Street Journal: "'A honeymoon is a perfectly appropriate gift to request,' says Peter Post, president of the Emily Post Institute, a Burlington, Vt., etiquette think tank. 'There's no objection to it from an etiquette point of view.'"

Yaaaay!  I generated a link and posted it on our wedding website.  Now when somebody asks us what gift we'd prefer, we wouldn't have to answer "Kahit ano." We'd just point them to our site with the Honeyfund link on the "Registries" tab.  There, they would also see a note from us saying that our guests' presence is one we can't celebrate without.  A contribution to our honeymoon would be very much appreciated, but it is NOT a requirement and should be the last thing guests have to worry about. :)

CASE CLOSED! =D

How Do You Love Me? Let Me Count The Ways.

If you're familiar with Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Sonnet 43, you know that this post is a spin-off. :)  However, instead of me counting the ways I love God, I will do the opposite.  God has shown His love for me in innumerable ways, and I know that I will lose count if I ever try to remember them all.  Let me at least name just a few off the top of my head.

How do You love me? Let me count the ways.
  • You let me live.  I know I am just one insignificant dot on the planet, and nothing will change much if I was never born, but You gave me life.  You gave me the chance to experience living.
  • You 'assigned' me to a wonderful family.  We may only live a simple life, but we are happy.  And this family knows You.  They taught me You.
  • You have blessed me with wonderful relationships - with my fiance, with my old friends, and my extended family at work.  There are rifts sometimes, but you've also blessed me with a quick-to-heal heart that just makes the gaps disappear in a snap. :)
  • You have always been there for me. You are there unconditionally.  You give me what I need whether I ask for it or not.  You bless and guide me whether I remember You or not.  There wasn't a time when I asked You to leave me alone, but I bet that even if I did, You will still stay coz you know that I need You.  You never get tired of me. :)
  • You give me tests sometimes, but You never forget to give the answers, too.  All the lessons I need to learn, you teach me.  Being a stubborn child, I sometimes learn Your lessons the hard way, but You're there to give me a POWER HUG at the end of every spanking. :)
  • You always forgive my sins.  I hurt You again and again and again, and You forgive me again and again and again.  I sometimes wonder how You could forgive, when You know for a fact that I will make the same offence sooner or later.  Is that how much You love me?

Tomorrow is Good Friday.  We will again remember Your dying on the cross to save us.  Thank You Jesus. Thank You for the salvation.  Thank You for Your love.  I wish we could boast of loving You the way You love us, but we cannot.  If I must count the ways I have shown You my love, I might not even use up all the fingers on my hands. :(  But You are there still, making me feel Your presence every single day.  My love may be nothing in comparison to Yours, but please know that I love You, in this little way I know how.

Fools in Love on April Fool's Day =P

While other people probably spent the first of April playing pranks and practical jokes, Rolly and I played fools in love on April Fool’s Day (Hahaha, bring on the CHEESE)! =D It was a Sunday, so naturally, we went out for some quality time. :)

Our first stop: Nice Print Photography’s office along Shaw. We went here to settle 30% of our P/V fees which is a requirement before the engagement shoot.

Aside from settling the fees, we really needed to sit down with the Niceprint staff because there was something we had to fix. The photographer originally assigned to us suddenly couldn’t make it to the shoot. =(

But God heard my prayers and the matter was fixed. We were assigned another photog who is equally good. Masaya na ako agad. :)  Nag-picture-picture pa kami. =P

After our wedding errand, we headed back to the North and watched Wrath of the Titans. Then off to Yakimix we went! ‘Twas time to pig out! =D
