On Whimsical Wedding Cakes

If there's one thing a wedding reception can't be without, it's the CAKE. :) It takes center stage in the traditional cake cutting ceremony which, according to wikipedia, symbolizes the bride and groom's "first joint task in married life" as they cut the cake together.  Though I previously thought this signified something more profound (hehe), still the fact remains that the cake is always present in weddings, wherever part of the world you may be.

As we are nearing our big day, I've started to pin down details such as this and I never imagined it would be difficult.  However, after I've revisited my shortlist, I realized that deciding which one to choose could be a bit of a challenge. These cakes are all so lovely!

Since our theme would be "Romantic Whimsical," I want flowers, ribbons, and/or pearls incorporated on our wedding cake.  I browsed around for pegs and saved the whimsical ones.  What do you guys think?  Who's the fairest of them all?
"Squarely Regal"
"Sweet and Innocent"

"Elegant Bows"
"Romantic Blooms"
"Imperial Elements"

Dior Palette Fards Apaupieres

I got home last night from work and was greeted with a sweet surprise - a Dior 10-color eyeshadow palette!  Yaaay! It's a belated Christmas gift from Tita Marivic. :)

The colors look gorgeous but I have yet to try them. I'm not ready to botch up the CD marks on the makeup yet. Hmm. Maybe next month. ;)

My First Ever Omelet

I know this seems pathetic, but it was my first time this afternoon to ever cook an omelet.  Whew! Thanks to my office mates who immediately replied when I sent them this BBM:

"Guys, nilalagyan ba ng salt ang scrambled egg?  Scrambled egg dapat for omelet diba?"

Well, there's a first time for everything!  And before you know it, I might already be the the most sought after chef in the city! Hehe. =P  For now, this will do.

Tadaaaaaa!  *big grin*

Doesn't it look yummy? No, don't give me those rolling eyes! Haha. =))

But I admit, it was a bit salty. =P I promise it will be perfect next time. ;)

Cheers,

Laisha the Lumix

I got myself a new chum on the first week of 2012! Whoooaaaa! :)

Meet LAISHA, my Lumix LX5...

Before 2011 ended, I was already considering getting a new camera and retire my five-year old pink Cybershot.  However, I wanted to prove that I could defy the impulsive, I-want-it-now-or-never brat in me, so it took me a few more weeks to drop the bucks. Haha. I still did, obviously.  I merely prolonged the agony. *sticks tongue out*

I am no expert, but my friends say this Lumix LX5 was a fine choice. It is the perfect camera for casual photography enthusiasts just as I am who enjoy taking high quality photos but don't want the bulky baggage of a DSLR.  I read in one product review that the LX5 is "known as a 'bridge camera' as it bridges the gap between professional, high quality DSLRs and simple foolproof point-and-shoot cameras as it comes with all the customizable options regarding aperture, shutter speed, ISO etc."   Yaaaay! Perfect for me! :)

I am sooo looking forward to posting better quality images from now on! :)
